Vandal-resistant dome cameras from Rainbow are being used at BP petrol stations across the United Kingdom for general surveillance at the company's forecourts.

Installers, Cambridgeshire-based AGE Electrical Services, report that the domes are compact and unobtrusive, meaning the units are unlikely to be struck by high-sided or unusually shaped vehicles as they move around the BP sites.  Use of these cameras forms part of BP's wide-ranging CCTV measures aimed at health & safety, logistics and customer protection as well as securing the properties.

The cameras are being used in conjunction with Fusion DVRs from Honeywell.  These are four-channel MPEG-4 encoders that accept analogue video and audio signals and convert them into a digital packet-based IP format.

The Rainbow equipment has been supplied by the company's UK distributor, ADI-Gardiner, with whom Rainbow has close ties.  AGE Electrical Services is a consultant and installer with particular strength in the closely-regulated petroleum industry and in the retail sector where clients include Halfords and Somerfield.  The company is respected for its in-depth site surveys, objective product choices and IP capabilities.  AGE has customer care centres in Barnsley, Huntingdon and Taunton, so ensuring fast response times.
