AMAG Technology, a leading security solution provider, introduces a new Symmetry Camera range of high definition network cameras to its Symmetry Product Portfolio.   The Symmetry camera line marks a notable step forward in the ability of security surveillance cameras to form part of an integrated security system.

The new Symmetry Camera range includes nine cameras designed to satisfy both indoor and outdoor security needs, and they all offer the full 1080P video resolution at full frame rate which has become the benchmark specification for network cameras today.

Advanced motion detection comes standard in all models and an option to activate full on-board video content analytics, powered by proven VCA Technology is an option.  The standard advanced motion detection provides real time multi-event tracking, anti-tamper and camera shake cancellation. With the optional video analytics activated, this expands to include 3D behaviour detection, and the ability to detect entry, exit, loitering, tailgating and several other useful motion filters.

“The security industry has been waiting a long time for security cameras to add an automated additional layer of security to integrated security management systems. By adding this new range of cameras with their analytic capabilities to our Symmetry platform, we can now detect meaningful alarm events from video, and these alarms can interact with all of the triggering and workflow capabilities of AMAG’s Symmetry Security Management System,” said Steve Amos, AMAG’s Product Manager for the new camera range.

Included in the Symmetry camera range are fixed domes that offer a new remote controllable repositioning feature. The camera direction can be moved and refocused without the need for a technician to visit the camera. This can substantially reduce the labour cost of camera deployments while the camera itself remains considerably less expensive than a full pan tilt zoom model.
