Symmetry SR-2000 supports F/2F reader communication protocol with the legacy four door F/2F controllers
AMAG Technology's Symmetry SR-2000 Controller delivers proven access control technology

AMAG Technology, the world’s most widely installed and trusted access control and integrated security solution developer, announces the release of the Symmetry™ SR-2000 Controller. The Symmetry SR-2000 Controller is a four door control panel that delivers proven access control technology and is designed for new and retrofit security applications.

The Symmetry SR-2000 joins AMAG’s line-up of control panels which are designed for plug-and-play upgrade of Picture Perfect and other legacy Casi Rusco and similar systems. The SR-2000 is a 4 door controller and directly replaces the legacy M2000. This form factor is ideal for upgrading legacy equipment to a state-of-the-art Symmetry Security Management solution.

“Customers can take advantage of AMAG’s new Symmetry SR-2000 for new and/or retrofit applications,” said AMAG Technology Product Manager David Weinbach. “The beauty of the SR-2000 is that it operates side by side with the entire line of Symmetry controllers to provide flexibility, and can also be installed as part of an upgrade path for users looking to migrate to the Symmetry Security Management System.”

The Symmetry SR-2000 supports F/2F reader communication protocol, along with a pin-for-pin compatibility with the legacy four door F/2F controllers. It includes a four door controller board with input/output (I/O), and a powerful database unit. The SR Controller can be installed in existing enclosures, eliminating the need for any wiring or termination changes.

Installing the Symmetry SR-2000 provides many benefits:

  • Quick, easy, affordable upgrade while protecting initial investment
  • Reuse of existing wiring and current infrastructure including card readers, badges, and enclosures
  • Easy pin-for-pin retrofit
  • Connects to Symmetry security management software via LAN, WAN, RS232 or modem
  • Supports F/2F reader communication protocol
  • Minimal disruption during installation

Each SR-2000 controller supports 200,000 cardholders, but there is no limit to the number of cardholders a complete Symmetry SR system can support.

The Symmetry SR family of controllers will allow a Picture Perfect (or Facility Commander WnX or Secure Perfect) user to upgrade to a Symmetry Access Control System quickly, easily and affordably, and avoid a lengthy, complicated, expensive upgrade process. The product is based on proven, existing technology that is available now, and can be installed immediately.

Symmetry is a leading access control system which has been chosen by some of the world’s largest Picture Perfect users as their solution to move forward from their outdated system. Unlike legacy systems, Symmetry is completely flexible, easy to use, and utilises the latest software designs and architectures. Symmetry is a complete solution for access control where the software and door controllers – the two key parts of an access control system – are designed as one solution by the same team. The software and door controllers need to work “as one” for speed, reliability and security. Many alternative systems use commodity door controllers and rely on the third-party manufacturer to deliver a viable solution that continues to be compatible over the long term.

The Symmetry SR-2000 is fully supported by Symmetry Homeland Security Edition and can be combined with other SR Controllers, multiNODE Symmetry M2150 control panels and the EN series of controllers ensuring a flexible, reliable and resilient access control system.

AMAG Technology launched the new Symmetry™ SR-2000 Controller at ISC West in Las Vegas, 02-04 April, at the company’s booth #16099.
