Petards, Inc., the US Subsidiary of Petards Group plc and AIM listed developer of advanced surveillance systems, today announced that Robert J. Gitre has joined the company as director of Western regional sales and business development.

"We are pleased to have Bob join our growing team," said Frank Baitman, president of Petards, Inc.  "His experience in IP-based video solutions and proven success in selling leading-edge technologies into the video surveillance market will be an asset to the company as we strengthen and expand our presence throughout the United States and Canada."

He most recently served as Western sales manager for IQinvision, Inc., where he was responsible for growing the company's core product sales within his territory by 200 percent.  Prior to IQinvision, Bob held sales positions at 3VR Security, Inc., IPIX Corp. and Loronix Information Systems.  Gitre also was the president and founder of ChildNet.com, an Internet-based remote monitoring and communication tool for childcare centres and parents.

"Petards' UVMS is a powerful surveillance product that has been refined over the years, giving it a unique maturity for power users in active surveillance environments.  Its massive scalability and stunning use of high resolution megapixel IP cameras clearly set it apart from the competition," said Gitre.

"I'm excited to join Petards and look forward to contributing to its rapid growth."
