Schneider Electric recently announced a new line-up of Pelco™ traditional, general-purpose and fortified camera enclosure systems. The release of these seven enclosure systems provides a cost effective solution to the end user as well as making connectivity in harsh environments achievable.

“These significant advancements in camera enclosure capabilities represent excellent opportunity for security system specifiers, resellers and installers,” said Craig Dahlman, Director of Accessory Products, Pelco by Schneider Electric. “We’re proud to make available a wide selection of very cost effective traditional enclosures, as well as a new family of general-purpose IP-enabled enclosures optimised for megapixel cameras. Our new high-performance fortified series enclosures allow customers to offer harsh-environment solutions for almost any application.”

Traditional enclosures — New EH14 series:

Providing a reliable and cost-effective option for traditional video security enclosure installations, the EH14 series is constructed of a durable polycarbonate construction providing IP66, CE rated protection for camera/lens systems, with a wide -4°F to 122°F operating temperature range. Customers can choose from standard 24 VAC and 230 VAC input as well as traditional mounting options.

IP-enabled, general purpose enclosures — New EH16 series:

Taking performance and network connectivity to the next level, the new Pelco EH16 series enclosures offer convenient, built-in PoE camera power supplies and ultra-clear megapixel-optimised front windows. For maximum installation flexibility, customers can choose from IEEE802.3at, 24 VAC, and/or 230 VAC input. Constructed of high-performance aluminium die-cast, the EH16 provides IP66, CE, UL, cUL, and IK10 rated protection within an -22°F to 140°F operating temperature range. An optional sun shield is also available.

New fortified series enclosures:

Taking fixed camera systems to a new level of protection from heat, cold, moisture, and challenging power environments, the new Pelco Fortified Series enclosures are available as fully assembled, tested, and certified camera systems. Including the camera, lens, enclosure, mount, power supply, and optional fibre media converters.

  • Non-metallic long life, thermoplastic alloy will not corrode, rust, or oxidise
  • Impact resistant at all temperatures, for protection from acts of vandalism
  • Integrated wall-mount and full line of optional mounting brackets for virtually any mounting scenario
  • Ample internal space for camera and additional accessories
  • Active cooling system
  • 24 VAC or 230 VAC input, with PoE to camera
  • CE, UL, cUL, IK10, IP66
  • Optional SFP-based transmission media converters

High-temperature enclosures:

By making use of a unique new thermoplastic alloy, fortified technology reduces thermal loading by removing internal heat from the enclosure when temperatures exceed 158°F/70°C. All high-temperature-equipped products are thermally stable and completely isolated from external environments that carry dust, salts, moisture, and insects—an excellent level of protection for your camera, lens, and power system investment.

Low-temperature enclosures:

The low temperature FH-L1 series heated interior system protects sensitive cameras from extreme cold temperatures while reducing and eliminating obtrusive external ice build up in climates down to -122°F/-50°C. Unlike traditional “heat patch” enclosures that often fog or ice over at extreme low temperatures, our defrosting circuitry keeps the front window free of elements that would obstruct the camera’s view.

Humid-environment enclosures:

This camera system option reduces external lens fogging and ensures that the camera’s view is not compromised when humidity and temperatures increase. The system uses a twin high-flow internal blower system to prevent internal heat build up and to keep internal components within ideal operational temperature and humidity range.

Solar-power optimised enclosures:

The 12VDC powered FH-S1 series is engineered to protect cameras and lenses installed within normal environmental conditions when powered by a solar electric system. Most camera systems are not optimised for solar power and cause an extreme load on the solar system. Pelco’s solar-powered compatible systems are optimised to prevent this from occurring.
