Schneider Electric recently announced it is hosting the World Vision Kisongo Experience tour at its Pelco facility in Clovis, California, November 19 and 20. World Vision, a humanitarian organisation dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice, has a long standing relationship with Pelco by Schneider Electric, which will be presenting a donation of fifteen thousand dollars at the event.

In addition, Pelco announced that Mission 500, a nonprofit organisation in partnership with World Vision, is its new flagship charity. Pelco will work with Mission 500 towards its goal of getting every company in the security industry to sponsor at least one child through World Vision’s program.

The World Vision Kisongo Experience is housed inside a high-tech expandable semi-truck, which transports visitors to Tanzania. More than 30,000 visitors have already been through the free, family-friendly, new World Vision Experience: Kisongo Trek—a multimedia journey into the heart of an African village. The 1,000 square foot interactive exhibit recreates the experience of a donor or child sponsor who heads to Africa to see how their contribution is creating real and lasting change for children and families in need.

“We are honored to work with an organisation like World Vision and support Mission 500 in hosting the Kisongo Experience, which gives our employees and community the opportunity to see how organisations like this are helping families in need,” said Herve Fages, senior vice president, Schneider Electric, Pelco Video Line of Business.

“Pelco by Schneider Electric continues to be a committed and generous partner as they support our efforts to show the community what a difference you can make,” said Paul Diederich, experimental director for the World Vision tour. “We are most appreciative to Pelco for contributing to our cause and hosting this event. Contributions like this make a profound effect on the communities we serve.”

During the Clovis event, Pelco employees have the opportunity to build 1,000 backpack refill kits to be donated and distributed to children in need from Clovis and Fresno Unified School Districts.

World Vision provides emergency assistance to children and families affected by natural disasters and civil conflict, works with communities to develop long-term solutions to alleviate poverty, and advocates for justice on behalf of the poor.

The World Vision Experience will be open to the public at Pelco by Schneider Electric at 3500 Pelco Way, Building One on November 20, from 12:00PM until 7:00PM.
