Panasonic's WV-NP502 Box Megapixel Camera
Panasonic introduces new network systems products to it's renowned line of i-Pro Series products
Panasonic continues to expand its offering of advanced IP video surveillance solutions with new introductions to the company's renowned line of i-Pro Series network systems products. On display here at ASIS 2009 are new megapixel cameras with Panasonic's exclusive MEGA Super Dynamic camera technology and H.264 compression, as well as a new Video Management Server that accommodates both IP and legacy system devices.

"These latest additions to our industry-leading i-Pro Series further extend the performance and functionality of networked systems by incorporating Panasonic's newest technologies," said John Centofanti, National Sales Manager, Panasonic System Solutions Company's Security Systems group. "The continued expansion of Panasonic's i-Pro Series further reflects our primary objective to provide the best customer-driven end-to-end video surveillance solutions."

Panasonic's new i-Pro WV-NW502S Vandal-Resistant Fixed Dome and WV-NP502 Box Megapixel Cameras incorporate the company's MEGA Super Dynamic (MEGA SD) camera technology with 128x dynamic range, Adaptive Black Stretch technology to make dark areas more visible, and face detection technology to better identify subjects. For versatile monitoring and recording, these high performance cameras also provide streaming of H.264, MPEG-4 and JPEG compression formats.

The progressive-scan CCD provides full-frame-rate video up to 30 frames-per-second in 1.3 megapixel mode, and 3.0 megapixel video (in JPEG format) at 15 frames-persecond, also supplying clear images with less motion blur and no tearing even if the subject is moving. The Day/Night function features high sensitivity at 1.0 lux in colour and 0.08 lux in B/W at f1.4 in the 1.3 megapixel mode. Auto Back Focus (ABF) ensures easy installation and stable focus in colour and B/W modes. Adaptive Digital Noise Reduction ensures quality video.

Video Motion Detection (VMD) provides four programmable detection areas, 15 sensitivity levels and 10 detection sizes. Face detection locates the position of a human face and sends the information by XML or video stream. Metadata for VMD is supplied to work with Panasonic's WJ-ND400 NVR's playback VMD function. Privacy zones can mask up to eight private areas, such as windows or entrance/exits. Full duplex bi-directional audio allows interactive communication between the camera site and the monitoring site.

Alarm sources include three-terminal input, VMD and Panasonic alarm command to trigger actions such as SD/SDHC memory recording, FTP image transfer, e-mail notification, indication on browser, alarm terminal output and Panasonic protocol output. JPEG image compression ratio can be changed by alarm so that higher quality images are provided. The SD/SDHC memory card slot also provides manual recording and backup upon network failure. The WV-NW502S Vandal-Resistant Fixed Dome Camera includes a dehumidification device for various weather conditions and is IP66-rated for water and dust resistance.

Panasonic's new PMPU1000 System Management Server delivers flexibility and scalability for a range of video networking needs, up to and including creation of a global system with universal cross-network access to video. Key features include flexibility to mix a range of devices, from matrix switchers, DVRs and analogue cameras to IP cameras - whether pan-tilt-zoom, fixed dome or fixed box - and various network recorders; a user-friendly administrative console; and a satellite feature enabling 64 stand-alone servers to be linked into a global system. The PMPU1000 supports Panasonic's PFW950 GUI client software.
