Panasonic System Solutions Europe (PSSEU) has appointed six new students to support and strengthen its EU marketing activities, and build upon the company's relations overseas.

The new placement students will be working on their own projects as part of the central marketing team that covers events, exhibitions, point of sale and E-marketing.  In the UK team, Luke Whitehouse will be responsible for marketing and events, Kerry Long for E-Marketing and Gillian Littler for PR.

Panasonic has also taken the strategic decision this year to employ three students to assist in Marketing in France, Germany, and Spain to help build relations across Europe in the System Solutions marketing team.  Rob Healey, European Head of Marketing at Panasonic System Solutions said, "The decision to take on the European students is one which is crucial in order to build up our new EU structure.  The EU students shall be playing an active role in developing relationships with their countries' trade press, assisting in business planning, event co-ordination and participating in trade exhibitions.  The students will also be working closely with the UK marketing team, translating particular work for use in each country which will improve communication."

Gillian Littler, a BA Hons Public Relations student at Leeds Metropolitan University, said, "I am thoroughly enjoying my role so far in the Panasonic System Solutions department, and feel privileged to work within such a supportive team and be given the chance to take on real responsibilities.  Spending my work placement at such a highly respected company is an incredible opportunity, and I'm certain this year will provide me with invaluable experience that will prepare me for my final year of university and future career."

The UK students are currently working at Panasonic House, Bracknell, alongside the three EU students who will each have flown out to their respective countries at the end August.
