Panasonic Security Systems, a division of Panasonic System Solutions Company (PSSA), has announced the enrollment of Cisco as the Founding Partner in the Panasonic Solution Developer Network (PSDN) program.  The program joins two leading suppliers of advanced networking products and technologies - Panasonic's i-Pro Series of intelligent and professional IP video surveillance products, and Cisco's Intelligent Converged Environment (ICE) video surveillance products for best-in-class networked system operations.  As the Founding Partner, Cisco will receive high levels of developmental and marketing support from Panasonic.

According to Michael Maddox, System Sales Engineer and PSDN Program Manager for Panasonic, the PSDN Program is designed to offer Cisco and other Panasonic partners development tools, technical information, and protocols to encourage and accelerate the development of integrated and interoperable system solutions for a variety of applications.

"We are extremely pleased to be working with Cisco's experienced team of networking and security professionals.   We have already started to cross-cultivate our respective products and technologies with positive results, and look forward to the development of new products that deliver enhanced performance and interoperability resulting from our collective efforts," said Mr. Maddox.

"As the physical security market grows, it will continue to migrate toward a networked platform," said Steve Collen, director of product management for Cisco's Converged Secure Infrastructure Business Unit. "Interoperability among IP-enabled devices - like IP cameras - is essential in ensuring a smooth transition to unified networked security operations.  We look forward to working with Panasonic to develop and deploy interoperable network solutions that fully capitalize on our respective core strengths and simplify solutions for customers."

Panasonic's i-Pro Series facilitates the transition to a networked environment with easy integration into new and existing analog and digital installations.  The i-Pro Series includes PTZ, vandal-proof, fixed, and mini-dome cameras, network video recorders, video servers and more.

Cisco's ICE Video Surveillance solution features network-centric software and hardware that support video transmission, monitoring, recording and system management from any network access point at any time.  Cisco's ICE solution is predicated on an open architecture, providing flexibility for customers requiring interoperable security solutions that feature devices from multiple manufacturers.  Customers can unify security operations within the framework of their overall network, aligning security and safety with their business' efficiency.
