BX80 and 20 VX402 BoundaryGard detectors from Optex
GG Steel installed BoundaryGard detectors from Optex Europe to prevent intruders from vandalising cars after a recent spate of attacks
A range of proven BoundaryGard detectors from Optex Europe has prevented intruders at a used car dealership from vandalising cars after a recent spate of attacks.

Kirton Lindsey-based GG Steel, has been trading from its current site for 18 years and in the last six months had a series of incidents of vandalism, as Sales Manager Andy Lockey explains: "We have had a presence in the town for 37 years and never had a problem, but in the last six months there have been three occasions where cars have been damaged by vandals."

Andy contacted Dean Bolton from Eyewatch Security, who specified a solution combining six BX80 and 20 VX402 BoundaryGard detectors, as he continues: "After seeing the site, Dean suggested we install a range of detectors from Optex Europe. Since then we have not had any problems at all - not even a single false alarm. We have only had one ‘live' incident of some kids messing about but they were detected and warned off site."

Dean Bolton Managing Director of Eyewatch Security adds: "The GG Steel site is a mixture of large compound where all the cars are stored, offices and garages. I knew the BX80s were the ideal solution for the entire site and they have been excellent. We have not had any problems at all and they may have caught the culprits of the earlier damage."

The BX-80N suits almost all outdoor applications because it combines two PIRs, creating extra high immunity against false alarms caused by small animals, cars, and other outdoor disturbances. A selectable piezo buzzer can alert intruders and also serves as a convenient walk test indicator. This unit is designed to detect movement of an intruder and activate an alarm control panel.

Paul Nicholas, Sales Manager for Optex Europe adds: "Our BoundaryGard VX and BX sensor technology provides reliable external protection BEFORE burglars get inside. The BX80N creates a multi-layered, horizontal barrier that detects intruders and sounds the alarm before they actually break in and just one BX-80N can protect an area up to 24m across."
