Optex Europe, the leading manufacturer of internal and external detection technology, has promoted Nigel Hackett to Director in charge of sales within its REDWALL RVR division.  He will be responsible for managing and developing markets for external sensors in Europe and the Middle East, with specific emphasis on the remote video response sector.

Nigel has worked in the security industry for more than 20 years, and has extensive knowledge particularly of the CCTV and systems integration businesses.  Before joining Optex Europe in 2003, he worked almost exclusively in developing and implementing strategies to grow the RVR sector, and promoting the vital role that a monitored surveillance system (using the appropriate detection and transmission technologies) can play in reducing crime.

"My appointment reflects Optex Europe's commitment to the RVR sector in developing products and solutions that deliver the optimum detection performance with the lowest number of false alarms," Nigel says.

"REDWALL is already the benchmark in external detector technology, but we continue to evolve and develop our products in collaboration with our RVR partners."

As well as his new responsibilities, Nigel continues to be an active voice within the BSIA, particularly within the RVRC sub committee.
