Octavian Security will be based close to Nottingham City Centre on Riverside Business Park

Octavian Security, the security company that in 2008 was named the 27 fastest growing company in the UK, has relocated back to Nottingham from its former headquarters in Derby.

Employing 175 of its 800 strong workforce in Nottingham, Octavian Security will now be based close to Nottingham City Centre in a 5,680 sq. ft. unit on Riverside Business Park.

Octavian, which relocated to Derby from Nottingham in 2010, has moved back to Nottingham as owner Sukhi Ghuman believes that the city provides more opportunity at this time for his fast growing business. He says “We started the business in Nottingham in 2003 and can’t wait to get back into the business community there. Derby as a city has been extremely good to us, but we feel that Nottingham’s investments into transport, and its core city status and business credentials will suit where our business is headed in terms of UK and international growth.”

“Ever since attending University here, I have been extremely passionate about Nottingham and have many connections in the city and county.”

Octavian, which works extensively with Nottingham City Council, shot to fame in 2005 for its work with Ghurka security guards in the car park of Ikea Nottingham. The company is renowned for its international activity and for raising the standards of training and competence in the UK security industry, and last year it saw a 30 per cent increase in turnover to £14.4 million and continued to report the successes of Octavian Security USA in North America. Additionally in 2011, Sukhi was appointed as the first non-US citizen to become a Board Member for The Homeland Security Foundation of America (HSFA).

Councillor Graham Chapman, Deputy Leader of Nottingham City Council says of Octavian’s return to the city:

"We are delighted that Octavian has chosen to move its offices back to Nottingham and that the Invest in Nottingham team was able to support Sukhi and his team with the project. The City has always been proud of Octavian's domestic and international business success, and the fact that the new Nottingham offices will be accommodating the growing team is a great coup for us all. Octavian's move and expansion plans back into Nottingham reinforces the city's strong business networks and economic strength."

The new offices will also be the HQ for Sukhi Ghuman’s new venture, Octavian Pharma, which procures and distributes pharmaceutical and cosmetic products throughout North America.

Octavian’s client base includes the likes of Lend Lease, Nottingham City Council and Prologis.
