Nottingham based security company, Octavian Security, has won a substantial three-year contract to supply manned security services to ProLogis, the world's leading provider of distribution facilities and services.
ProLogis has more than 2,400 facilities owned, managed and under development in 81 markets in North America, Europe and Asia and this contract will see Octavian providing manned guarding solutions for all of the company's UK portfolio of sites.
The three-year contract is expected to be worth in excess of £4.5 million and Octavian tendered against four other high profile UK security companies for the work. It will be handled by Octavian Security managing director Sukhi Ghuman and business development director, Anthony Henry.
This account win further cements Octavian's successful penetration into the UK logistics, distribution and warehousing market and follows on from wins both in the UK and overseas this year that have included GBA (vehicle logistics), Walsh Western, TNT, Aramex and Panalpina.
"ProLogis is a very high profile warehouse developer in the global logistics sector and we feel that by securing this tender, we are really showing some much bigger security industry players and other prospective clients that we do have something new to offer," explains Sukhi Ghuman, managing director of Octavian Security.
"ProLogis was impressed with our dedicated industry leading officer training programme, our innovative approach to developing security solutions for this particular industry and our commitment to the industry itself - as the only security company in the UK to be dedicated enough to become a member of the RHA."
Octavian will be utilising a mixture of UK, South African and ex-Gurkha regiment security officers on this contract and will be drafting in two of its key security strategists to help devise an impenetrable programme - ex South African special forces major, Hermanus Smith and ex Nottinghamshire Constabulary detective chief constable, Michael Burrows.
The ProLogis security contract was previously handled by Aspro Security.
