The Shield Group, UK’s largest independent total security solutions provider, has announced Eric Roberts as the Managing Director of the company’s Monitoring and Systems division. Mr Roberts, whose last position was Business Development Director - Monitoring at Corps Security, will be joining The Shield Group from 1st August 2014 to manage the day-to-day operations of the Monitoring and Systems Division and will be based in the company’s headquarters in Austin Friars, London.

Mr Roberts, 47, joins The Shield Group at an exciting time, as the company leads the way in delivering innovative and progressive security solutions based on its adopted Total Security Solutions (TSS) model. Roberts brings with him a wealth of experience, having started his career, over 28 years ago, as a security engineer, securing and monitoring CCTV systems for several blue chip companies in the UK. He then progressed to become a sales director at Emizon, where he managed business units valued at over £20 million and later moving up to Business Development Director.

The Shield Group recently launched four strategic verticals, combining traditional man-power and innovative technology to deliver intelligent, risk-based TSS to its customers. To this effect, Mr Roberts’ will oversee The Shield Group’s new state-of-the-art Monitoring Centre based in Preston, covering the North of the UK and developing portfolio in Europe. With the company growing in stature, Mr Roberts’ role will further include managing the company’s expansion through planned acquisition and business development.

Mr Roberts is also an active campaigner and contributor to Crisis, a national charity for single, homeless people, dedicated to ending homelessness by delivering life-changing services and campaigning for change.
