The technical partnership with WD has supported COP to produce a raft of high-performance DVRs
The continual partnership allows for the use of WD’s latest surveillance class Purple hard drives in all COP DVRs

COP Security, the professional trade only CCTV security products distributor are maximising their continual partnership with Western Digital, with the use of WD’s latest surveillance class Purple hard drives in all COP DVRs.

For over five years COP’s technical partnership with WD, one of the largest computer hard disk drive manufacturers in the world, has supported COP to produce a raft of high-performance DVRs. This latest development of the partnership sees COP choose WD’s Purple hard drive for use in their Inspire Black, Blue, Red and HD-SDI DVR models, essentially to provide installers with ultra-reliable high-performance video storage solutions.

Typically, most other DVRs employ desk-top hard drives that are designed for IT data storage and built to run only for short intervals, and not for the high demand of the ‘always-on’, high definition video storage environment. However, WD Purple hard drives are purpose-built for mainstream video-surveillance applications, being designed specifically for the rigors of video-surveillance where the drive can spend more than 95 percent of its time in ‘write’ mode.

Equipped with AllFrame technology and ATA streaming to reduce frame loss and error pixilation, the WD Purple surveillance-class hard drives now fitted to all COP DVRs offer low power consumption and improved high definition playback.

“We are very proud of our long-standing partnership with Western Digital and the technical advantages we gain by employing their world-class drives within the COP DVR range,” says Gareth Rhodes, COP Security’s Sales & Marketing Executive. “WD Purple hard drives are specifically engineered to provide optimal results when used in image storage applications, delivering improved HD video playback within the demands of 24x7 surveillance applications. COP is committed to offering its customers cutting-edge CCTV technology, and the constant evolution of our DVR products and use of WD hard drives underlines that commitment.”
