Oil and gas pipeline networks are particularly vulnerable critical infrastructure where the costs of conventional monitoring methods are too high to implement

Forum will take place on 25-26 March 2015 at Mövenpick Golden Horn Hotel Istanbul, Turkey

Oil and gas pipeline networks are particularly vulnerable critical infrastructure, which can be found in some of the world’s biggest conflict zones in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America; as well as in remote and hostile territories where the costs of conventional monitoring methods are too high to implement.

The only platform addressing security methods to protect this exposed infrastructure globally is taking place next week, on 25-26 March 2015, at the Mövenpick Golden Horn Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey. The two-day conference will gather senior security representatives who will analyse the threats currently faced by pipeline companies operating in high risk areas.

Companies participating

Amongst companies participating in the Forum are: Undersecretariat for Defence Industries Turkey, Ministry of Energy Turkey, Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project (TANAP), BOTAS, BOTAS International Ltd, BP, TAP, Gas Connect Austria, GE Oil and Gas, Petroleb, Izmir University of Economics, Caspian Strategy Institute (HASEN), ABB, Sonatrach Algeria, Strategic Research Institute, LPD Risk Management, ILF Consulting Engineers, TSGI Engineering & Construction, OptaSense and Kadir Has University.

Conference schedule

During the first day of the conference, the Security Advisor of Sonatrach Algeria will lead a case study on the national reconciliation referendum in Algeria and if it significantly reduced the risk of terrorist attacks on Algeria’s oil and gas installations. This will be followed by a presentation on the security of petroleum pipelines in the Middle East. The COO of Petroleb Lebanon will provide the audience with an overview of the current security situation of petroleum pipelines in the region, including country-focused case studies.

The Pipeline Security Forum is sponsored by Havelsan, Fotech Solutions, Ortana, ASELSAN, LPD Risk Management, ILF Consulting Engineers and OptaSense Ltd.
