One of world’s most renowned cities, the City of Bangkok
Mirasys chosen to provide surveillance software for city of Bangkok
Mirasys, one of the world's leading providers of open platform digital CCTV and video surveillance solutions, was selected as the surveillance software provider for one of world's most renowned cities, the City of Bangkok. As Bangkok renews its city-wide surveillance programme, it sought a system that could integrate different types of hardware and cameras, and that would remain flexible over the coming years. Mirasys was chosen as the software provider due to its seamless integration capabilities, reliability and long-term adaptability.

The Mirasys software, which will initially support more than 3 000 IP cameras in the City of Bangkok, allows digital images to be recorded and monitored both locally and centrally. The system will also be extended with intelligence features to allow effective long-term use of the system. The City's existing analogue cameras will be seamlessly integrated within the Mirasys solution, which provides the option of introducing very high-resolution cameras in the future.

M.R. Sukhumbhand Paripatra, Governor of Bangkok said: "We want to take additional measures to maintain the public safety of the entire city. The key to success will be the collaboration between public and private sector such as hotels, shopping malls, gas stations, convenience stores and movie theatres. With this particular procurement we want to accelerate the process and believe that there will more than 20,000 cameras to cover the most important areas within next four years."

"Mirasys provides a highly scaleable software solution for those who need a cost effective user-friendly system that fits with the needs of their organisations - be those big or small. Increasingly, customers are finding that our systems offer this flexibility while facilitating the move towards IP cameras and fully digital systems as is the case in Asia. We are honoured to have been selected to protect the City of Bangkok", said Jukka Riivari, chief executive officer at Mirasys.

Mr. Boonya Tantipanichaphan, executive director of Genius Traffic System Company Limited, a subsidiary of FORTH CORPORATION PUBLIC CO.,LTD. Added: "This project demonstrates how our policy of providing the best solution to suit the customer's requirements works. Our team recommended Mirasys products for the project and we've been extremely happy with the performance and support that we've come to expect from Mirasys in the pilot phase."

"For Mirasys in Asia, this is obviously a breakthrough," said managing director Noppadol Sukhmol, Mirasys Thailand, "we are excited to work with the City of Bangkok and its prime contractors as we develop the surveillance programme further".
