Mirasys, leading provider of open platform digital CCTV and video surveillance solutions
Mirasys introduces high-resolution surveillance systems to the UK
Mirasys, one of the world's leading providers of open platform digital CCTV and video surveillance solutions, has opened its first office in the UK. Mirasys UK will be headed up by director of sales Jon Hill, who brings more than 15 years' experience in security and CCTV to the role. Jon will be responsible for marketing Mirasys' digital recording portfolio at a critical juncture for development of surveillance systems in the UK, one of the world's most highly penetrated security markets. The move comes after the company appointed surveillance industry authority Adam Wiseberg to the post of group chairman at its AGM in Finland last month.

Jon Hill said: "As users in the UK transition their surveillance systems towards fully digital and IP-based solutions, they are looking for flexibility, affordability and ease of use. Mirasys brings a range of competitively priced products to the UK market at a time when buyers need to be able to interface with the full range of surveillance infrastructure."

Jon will be supported by technical director Martin Tweedie, an industry expert with more than 20 years' experience. As a product manager at Blick plc, now Stanley Security, Martin played a key role in introducing IP based CCTV technologies to the firm's product range. Most recently he worked as digital video product manager for Siemens Security Products, formerly Bewator.

Mirasys' open-platform model will enable customers in the UK to build reliable, future-proof surveillance operations

Jukka Riivari, chief executive officer, commented: "The UK is a critical CCTV market facing unique challenges. The country has over four million surveillance cameras already, but we are still seeing demand across a range of sectors. It's clear that the way in which these systems are designed and operated is changing rapidly, and the highly-experienced Mirasys UK team understands the needs of users in this environment. Mirasys' open-platform model will enable customers in the UK to build reliable future-proof surveillance operations with a range of features that provide new levels of clarity and intelligence."

Mirasys markets software solutions such as the NVR Enterprise, a comprehensive enterprise level security platform, and NVR Pro, an entry-level IP surveillance platform. It also provides hardware including a range of networked video recorders that support the H.264 data compression standard, which means less disk storage space and less bandwidth is required to capture high-resolution footage.
