Open platform IP video management software specialist Milestone receives 2011 Innovative Achievement Award

Milestone Systems, the open platform company in IP video management software (VMS), has been given the 2011 Innovative Achievement Award for the CCTV category for XProtect® Enterprise 8. This was announced and presented on the 18th of October, at the 12th annual Detektor International Awards held at SECTECH, Security Exhibition and Conference, in Stockholm, Sweden. Last month, Computerworld magazine in Denmark published their Top 100 list of IT companies with Milestone as number 19.

The Detektor International Award was introduced in 2000 to reward manufacturers of products and services that stand up to the criteria of outstanding innovation and contribution to the advancement of the security industry. The Detektor International Award is an independent prize and companies cannot nominate their own products.

The jury consists of nine members from three continents: Europe, Asia and America. The criteria for a product to be nominated for a Detektor International Award encompasses not only the technical solution but also the packaging and overall presentation of the product, which could also be a service. The three product categories for the awards are Access Control, Alarm and Detection, and CCTV.

"We are proud to receive this Innovative Achievement Award for XProtect Enterprise 8," said Lars Wilson, Milestone Country Manager Nordics, who accepted the award at the ceremony. "We share the honor with our employees and loyal partners, who constantly inspire us to think in new ways so we can create the future-proof IP video solutions that modern companies need today."

"Simplicity, capacity, usability and speed make XProtect Enterprise 8 the smart choice for IP video management software in large security installations," said Lennart Alexandrie, Publisher, Detektor International.

XProtect Enterprise 8 was released in July of this year. It is comprehensive, open-platform IP VMS for medium and large-scale installations, primarily multi-site, multi-server deployments. The consolidated single-management interface provides a coherent and efficient way to view and control an unlimited number of cameras, giving situational awareness for quick response and accurate investigation. Quick and easy to set up and manage, XProtect Enterprise includes system configuration wizards and auto-detection of hardware to significantly reduce the time and cost of deploying large security installations.

Every year Computerworld magazine in Denmark publishes a list of Top 100 from over 1,000 IT companies based on revenues, growth over previous year, efficiency (revenue per employee), good management (operating margins - EBIT - are equal to sales) and the return on assets is equal to earnings (EBIT) on its assets. Figures are supplied by the Danish firm Accounting Analysis.
