Specialist security provider, Allegion, has introduced its complete range of Briton mechanical locking solutions, which meet Grade 3 of EN 12209 regulation – the Briton 5600 Series.

Building on the success of Briton 5400 and 5500, the range has been bolstered with two additional Briton locks that are suitable for both internal and external doors in public buildings, in both new build and retrofit commercial applications.

Ideal for commercial buildings

Briton 5600 Series features specialised functions, such as the Briton 5650 Nightlatch with anti-thrust for protection against vandalism. Briton 5660 is an escape lock ideal for commercial buildings such as offices, schools, universities, and hospitality outlets. With a split follower function, the lock enables both the deadbolt and latch bolt to be withdrawn simultaneously inside the lever handle for swift and easy exits.

All locks within the Briton mechanical locking range feature smooth and quiet operation, while the modular design of the range allows simplified door preparation and lock interchangeability across the entire Briton series. The locks have been engineered for demanding commercial buildings and feature high corrosion resistance.

Briton - range of mechanical locking solutions

Stuart Costigan, product manager at Allegion, said: “As a specialist manufacturer of door hardware solutions, our Briton range has a heritage reaching back decades, placing us perfectly to create an entire range of mechanical locking solutions suited to any high frequency commercial or public sector environments.”

“The launch also coincides with the recent introduction of our specification guide, in spec, which invites specifiers and architects to seek complete building solutions through products designed to work together, from one provider.”
