March Networks®, a global provider of intelligent IP video solutions, recently announced that the company's Command™ video management platform is now fully interoperable with high-density storage appliances from DataDirect Networks (DDN), the world's largest privately-held information storage company. The integrated solution delivers massive scalability and petabytes of video storage - all easily managed using Command's intuitive, web-based software interface.

Many applications are using more multi-megapixel cameras at high frame rates, and requiring more than the typical 30 days of video storage. The combination of Command's scalability and the DDN SFA10000 Storage Platform allows customers to quickly expand their surveillance network from hundreds to tens of thousands of IP cameras and edge devices. DDN storage options scale from 80 TB to multi-petabytes off a single RAID engine, enabling customers to reduce datacenter footprints, and cut energy and cooling costs by as much as 40 percent.

"The adoption of megapixel cameras in the market is driving the need for higher scalability and reliability of achieved video," said Fabrizio Colciago, Chief Technology Officer, March Networks. "After evaluating a number of options, we selected DDN for its best-in-class real-time storage solution for single or multi-site enterprise-class applications. The combination of our technologies offers the robust capabilities that customers have been seeking for quite some time."

"We are excited to partner with March Networks, which has a rich heritage in video networking and is recognised industry-wide for its strong video management solutions," said Harvey Kohli, DDN's Vice President of Business Development for IP Surveillance Business Unit. "Command's scalable software provides customers with a sophisticated, web-based interface that is easy to use and highly customisable. By combining Command with award-winning DDN technology, customers now can access video content with speed and certainty, within an infrastructure that is both extremely scalable and efficient."
