The University of Amsterdam selected an all-IP VideoSphere solution from March Networks

The Challenge

The University of Amsterdam's Faculty of Science, one of Europe's premier centres of higher learning and research, required a video surveillance system for its new 300,000-square meter home. A state-of-the-art solution for a showcase of scientific research and advanced technology was a natural choice, but cost effectiveness was also a consideration.

The Solution

Burgers Ergon, the University's security systems integrator, selected an all-IP VideoSphere solution from March Networks. It was ideal "because we were able to use the University's network," said Erik Ruikes, Burgers Ergon manager of security systems. "It was very cost-efficient and easy to install because there was no need for dedicated cabling and because the cameras are powered over Ethernet."
