Vidhan Sabha government building in Uttar Pradesh, India deploys March Networks' products
March Networks®,  a global provider of intelligent IP video solutions, announced that the company's VideoSphere® Video Management System (VMS) and IP cameras have been selected to enhance surveillance throughout the Vidhan Sabha government building in Uttar Pradesh, India. The video surveillance solution is part of comprehensive security management system for the five building complex being implemented by Elkosta Security Systems India (ESSI), a March Networks certified partner.

Housing the legislative assembly of Uttar Pradesh in the country's most populous state, the government building holds significant historic and political significance for the region and its security is of paramount importance. The March Networks solution was selected based on its advanced video management capabilities and high-quality video, as well as the strength of the company's partner ESSI.

"The March Networks system delivers the reliability and management efficiency required for such a high-profile installation," said Abhay Jha, CEO, Elkosta. VideoSphere® Video Management System (VMS) and IP cameras from March Networks have been selected to enhance surveillance throughout the Vidhan Sabha government building in Uttar Pradesh, India

Video from multiple VideoSphere IP PTZ Dome cameras will be installed strategically throughout the site to enable centralized security personnel to monitor activity in real-time and focus in on or track specific incidents. VideoSphere Edge 4 Encoders with H.264 compression will also be used to bring video from existing CCTV cameras into the IP system. High-quality video evidence from all cameras will be easily accessed and reliably stored on Sun Microsystems servers running VideoSphere VMS software that has been pre-installed and configured as part of March Networks' convenient VMS Application Server Bundle offering.

"Enhanced security continues to be a primary component of many corporate and government infrastructure projects throughout India as the country prepares to host the Commonwealth Games in October 2010," said Peter Strom, President and CEO, March Networks. "We look forward to working with partners in the region to address these requirements through our comprehensive IP video portfolio, which supports both large IP deployments and sites with existing CCTV infrastructure."
