Emma has a wide range of security expertise, knowledge and experience

Emma Shaw, Managing Director and founder of Esoteric Ltd, a leading counterespionage and electronic sweeping company, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of Falanx Group Limited, which was admitted to the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) in June.

Falanx, a security and risk management consultancy has been founded to respond to a heightened need for security consultancy and asset protection by large corporates and governments operating in sensitive regions such as those affected by the Arab Spring where there is an increased risk from civil unrest, terrorism and ethnic tensions. Falanx offers general security consultancy, security technology, business intelligence, political and security risk assessments and crisis management as well as providing bespoke solutions in response to a broad range of international security challenges.

Emma, whose appointment is effective immediately, has a wide range of security expertise, knowledge and experience to bring to the Falanx Board. An MBA graduate and a Chartered Security Professional (CSyP), Emma's early career was spent with the Royal Military Police, followed by a career in the Ministry of Defence. Emma is Chairman of the Security Institute; a Board member of the Defence Industry Security Association (DISA); and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. Emma was a finalist for the 2012 Lord Imbert Prize and won Security Consultant of Year at the Security Excellence Awards 2012. Emma also featured in the list of recent IFSEC Global top 40 influencers in the security industry.

Speaking on her appointment, Emma said: “I am delighted to be joining the Board and look forward to working with the Company to respond to the increased security challenges faced by its clients around the world”.
