Norton, an ASSA ABLOY Group company, recently announced the introduction of the CloserPlus Ramp™ Arm for 7500 and 8000 series door closers. This innovative hold-open arm offers improved operation and 10 times greater reliability in applications where the door is pulled in and out of hold open regularly.

With most hold open arms, a ball and plunger design is used. As the door opens, the ball crashes into the plunger, lifting it into place. Over time, this constant wear and tear eventually damages the plunger and it can no longer hold the door open. The Norton CloserPlus Ramp Arm provides a new and effective solution featuring a patent-pending ramp and plunger design that gently guides the plunger into place.

The CloserPlus Ramp Arm is ideal for office buildings, retail establishments, medical offices, assisted living facilities and other environments where the door assembly is constantly being pushed in or pulled out of a hold-open position. Norton’s CloserPlus Ramp Arm has been tested in a BHMA-certified laboratory to cycle 10 times longer than traditional designs and provides the longest lasting, most reliable hold-open arm assembly on the market today.
