Lenel® Systems International, Inc. recently introduced the Prism™ Video Management System, an open Internet Protocol (IP) Video Management System (VMS). Built using the latest Information Technology (IT) and video surveillance industry standards, Prism integrates seamlessly with Lenel’s OnGuard® for event-driven monitoring. Prism offers a single point-of-device configuration, event and alarm monitoring, and system administration in an integrated video and access deployment. Lenel is part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

Prism is offered in three configurations, standard, professional, and enterprise, and is available as a standalone VMS or as an integrator with OnGuard. Prism has the scalability, flexibility and reliability to meet the evolving video surveillance needs of enterprise customers with complex environments. A feature-rich set of tools that maximizes the use of the video workspace, combined with OnGuard integration, results in fast, high-quality user decisions, reduced training costs, and more efficient use of personnel.

“We know that customers managing complex sites and threats need access and video to work seamlessly together, so we designed Prism to complement and integrate fully with our industry-leading OnGuard solution,” said Joe Kirmser, president, Lenel Systems.

Prism uses the same Lenel NVR recording platform as OnGuard Video Manager. This common core technology platform means OnGuard VideoManager customers can easily upgrade to Prism and retain complete video data continuity.  Users will also appreciate the attention to an optimized interface.

“Whether it’s an operator looking at live video surveillance for hours at a time or a C-level executive reviewing a critical incident response, the user interface has been designed to provide an efficient, intuitive experience,” noted Cliff Cox, product manager, Lenel Systems.

With this introduction, OnGuard, Prism and Lenel NVR 7 now deliver the industry’s leading integrated video/access solution. Prism supports legacy Visiowave/UltraView™ VOS 4.4 storage implementations.

Kirmser added, “OnGuard, Prism and Lenel NVR will be the hub of our customers’ command and control deployments. The combination of these industry-leading products with more than 100 Open Access Alliance Partners, close to 100 OAAP certified products, and support for hundreds of third-party cameras, means customers can tailor their Lenel system with other components, that are certified to work together.”

The release of Prism enables a low total cost of ownership (TCO) video solution. The tiered pricing ensures a cost-effective entry point for those with small and less-complex environments, with simple incremental upgrades as their system size grows. Customers will also continue to have a single source of knowledgeable tech support for access control and video from Lenel.
