UTC Fire & Security UK Ltd. announced the new version 1.6 firmware release for the TruPortal™ web-based system for small and medium-sized access control applications, featuring smoother third-party integration and extra operating functions. TruPortal 1.6 is the perfect fit for access control systems ranging from two to 20 doors, offering scalability for up to 64 doors and not requiring an on-site server or software. It offers customers easy installation, intuitive operation and low cost of ownership. With this latest TruPortal release, system installers will benefit from free-of-charge documented Web application programming interfaces, enabling easy integration with third-party systems via the use of third-party middleware to connect with TruPortal’s controls, functions and database.
PIN-only functionality
New features include the option for PIN-only functionality for readers, additional methods for badge enrollment and an administrator password reset option. Less experienced users browsing through the user interface will appreciate the ability to enable and disable wizards.
A generic TruPortal recorder driver now enhances the support of future TruPortal devices and TruPortal 1.6 offers compatibility with a number of recorders including the TVR 12, TVR 42, TVN10, TVN21 and TVN21P. Enabling users to remotely control video surveillance, access reports and perform door commands, TruPortal 1.6 is also compatible with the TruPortal mobile app for iOS and Android users (phone and tablet). Its IP-based single door controller, supporting two readers and PoE (Power over Ethernet) makes TruPortal an easy and efficient solution for installers. The system also offers scheduled database and event back-ups, action triggers with email notification and compatibility with most web browsers.
Ability to use conversion wizards
Finally, TruPortal 1.6 offers users with appropriate security requirements the ability to use conversion wizards, making it easier to move system components and data repositories to the security management platform, Lenel® OnGuard® 7.0.
