The latest LEGIC advant will include tailor-made control for end-users and system suppliers
The LEGIC advant security concept is based on a physical Master Token in the form of a contactless Smart Card
LEGIC Identsystems Ltd, a leading provider of contactless Smart Card technology for personal identification, presented new functionalities of its well-proven LEGIC advant technology at Security 2008 in Essen / Germany.  The company is adding advanced functions to its Master-Token System Control™ (MTSC) physical security system, which provides end-users in particular with increased security and control.  As a novelty, a unique counting function provides total control over the number of LEGIC credentials issued.

At Security 2008, LEGIC presented the latest extensions of its well-proven security and control system.  An innovative counting function forms a central component of the new functionalities.  This means organisations are able to define exactly how many company badges a card manufacturer they have contracted may create.  This increases integrated control over issued credentials and the applications they are used for.

The LEGIC advant security concept is based on a physical Master Token in the form of a contactless Smart Card.  This Master Token guarantees security by using a genetic code which contains the authorisation to read and write data on a contactless credential.  It is only by having this Master Token that the genetic code can be transferred to cards and an application's reader device.

Urs Andrin Lampe, Vice President Product Marketing and New Business Applications of LEGIC, explains the benefits of the new functionalities for end-users:  ‘‘The additional functionalities of the Master Token System Control increase the level of control over contactless applications and credentials, and therefore improve security within organisations.  This further development marks a new innovative leap for the LEGIC advant technology platform in terms of increased security, control and flexibility.  At the same time, it opens up exciting and novel opportunities for distribution, and when implementing multi-application projects."
