LEGIC Identsystems Ltd, the world leading supplier of contactless smart card technology for personal identification applications, and Simet s.r.l., designer and manufacturer of products in the fields of industrial automation, data collection and safety, have signed a licence partnership. Simet extends its range of contactless identification products with personal identification technology of LEGIC.

Simet was established in 1982 in Turin, Italy, and originally designed, engineered and manufactured mechanical and electronic devices as well as computer equipment for industrial automation systems.  Based on their co-operation with other Italian high-end technology providers, Simet is able to develop single elements and complex systems, both customised to specific clients' needs and mass-produced.  According to specific requirements, Simet designs and manufactures, but also services and maintains the delivered products.  Thanks to constant updating on technologies, components as well as production and testing systems, their solutions live up to the highest expectation and quality standards.

In order to maintain these standards, Simet strives for continuous improvement of their staff's technical skills, ceaseless innovation and state-of-the-art technology.  In the past few years, Simet has taken great efforts to enlarge its expertise, to broaden its product portfolio and to successfully expand into the areas of safety, data collection and transmission, and radio frequency identification.

They already provide radio frequency legacy applications, readers, antennas, printers and tags, as well as other products, used for example in complex control and monitoring systems like asset tracking or cold chain management.  The LEGIC licence agreement provides Simet with the world leading contactless all-in-one smart card technology for secure personal identification.  This will allow the company once more, to extend their customer base and strengthen their services in the area of access control and time & attendance systems.

Sergio Montabone, responsible for the LEGIC license agreement at Simet s.r.l., says:

"Simet is proud to have constantly grown both, its clientele as well as its range of products and services.  The LEGIC licence agreement provides us with the latest technology in the area of personal identification - it allows us to keep up with our innovative pace of the past and it holds the promise for creative and tailor-made solutions for our clients in the future."

"Simet has proven its determination for innovation and expansion.  We are convinced that the LEGIC's contactless all-in-one card technology will be a door opener for a promising area of business that Simet has yet begun to explore.  The company has the potential to introduce an entirely new range of products and solutions to their Italian and European clients," comments Klaus U. Klosa, Managing Director of LEGIC Identsystems Ltd, on the latest Italian licence agreement.
