Oberthur Technologies and LEGIC Identsystems Ltd combine two powerful technology platforms to enhance contactless and dual-interface payment product offerings.The combination of existing payment solutions and LEGIC’s identification solutions creates new business opportunities for industries such as public transport authorities, banks, airlines or leisure facilities.

This partnership enables Oberthur Technologies to leverage its contactless and dual-interface smart cards with LEGIC’s virtual contactless transponder technology. The existing payment card portfolio of Oberthur Technologies will be extended with multi-applications such as physical access control, public transport ticketing, parking, or logical access solutions. The combination of existing payment solutions and LEGIC’s identification solutions creates new business opportunities for industries such as banks, public transport authorities or leisure facilities.

LEGIC card-in-card solutions embedded in Oberthur Technologies’ platforms integrate a virtual LEGIC transponder onto contactless and dual-interface payment smart cards. In this manner, Oberthur Technologies’ Cosmo Fly dual-interface contactless payment cards can additionally be used as multi-application payment devices for public transport, event ticketing, fitness club access or parking solutions, allowing Oberthur Technologies’ customers to enhance the value of their cards. Simultaneously, cardholders will enjoy greater convenience through a reduced number of cards in their wallet. LEGIC technology offers the flexibility to add new applications at any time, even if the card has been already distributed to the consumer.
