In the Am Bachgraben retirement home in Allschwil and Schönenbuch (AZB), Interflex AG uses an extensive online and offline security solution for both time & attendance recording and staff rostering as well as to provide efficient access control for residents and staff alike.  Attendance time recording and rostering is handled perfectly for all employees.  A LEGIC badge is used as the ID medium for both residents and staff.  Two hundred residents are accommodated at the retirement home in various residential blocks.  AZB offers round-the-clock care and support for the elderly in an upscale setting.

A standardised system that eliminates disparate badge technologies and several software components that do not fit together well.  This was top of the wants list of those responsible for the retirement home in Bachgraben.  The solution also had to handle time & attendance recording as well as access control - using just one badge for staff and residents.  Keyless access control is implemented for residents to ensure maximum security levels - only authorised persons can enter buildings.  New construction and conversion work made it possible to install this system.

Just one program, Interflex IF-6020, takes care of access control, time and attendance recording and staff rostering for 400 people.  The strength of the solution lies in its customised usage options and its combination of online and offline components.  Authorised staff or residents can enter or access cloakrooms, security safes, medicine cupboards, rooms with room safes, lifts or letterboxes.  Details of who has access and the relevant authorisations of particular individuals are stored in the software and managed by administrators.  Because this is done centrally, it involves minimal effort.  The necessary data is written to personalised badges, printed with the retirement home‘s logo, in-house.  When a badge is lost, authorisations are simply deleted in the system and a replacement badge is issued. This makes sure that the retirement home remains secure.  If a badge is stolen or lost, the person who stole it or finds it cannot log in on the Pegasys 300 online terminal or the IF-600 and IF-71 online data acquisition devices in order to obtain access to the building and rooms.

This way, residents and staff alike always feel safe and at home.
