Ward supplied a team of 16 operatives when the Queen opened The Wing visitor centre at the National Memorial to the few |
Ward Security has provided 20 officers to help ensure security at a memorial day to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, which took place at the National Memorial to the Few at Capel-le-Ferne in Kent. At the event, HRH Prince Michael of Kent, patron of the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust, took the royal salute. The event was also attended by around 4,000 members of the public including dignitaries, and was honoured by the presence of seven former Battle of Britain airmen, now aged in their 90s, as guests of honour.
Ward Security services
Services provided by Ward Security included manned guarding, traffic management, perimeter security and event management. Earlier in 2015 Ward Security supplied a team of 16 operatives for a visit by Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh when the Queen opened The Wing visitor centre at the National Memorial to the Few.
“We are honoured to enjoy a strong working relationship with the management at Capel-le-Ferne,” explained David Ward, Managing Director of Ward Security. “However, while it is a great honour we never underestimate the seriousness of the task in hand. The nature of the site and the events, and the high level dignitaries in attendance demand the highest levels of preparedness and diligence. We work closely with the management at Capel-le-Ferne to ensure their events run smoothly and security is effective but unobtrusive. However, we still get a great deal of pleasure from delivering professional security at such high profile events.”
Bespoke integrated and flexible security services
Shortly after the Battle of Britain memorial event Honorary Secretary of Battle of Britain Memorial Trust, Group Captain Patrick Tootal (Retired) OBE, DL emailed his thanks to Ward Security, saying “I would like to say how well your team did. This is the first time the security has been so good. Ali Tod [Associate Director Operations] did a wonderful job as well co-ordinating. I could relax knowing that Ward Security was in charge.”
