The appointment supports growing IDIS customer base and partners, particularly supporting DirectIP full-HD surveillance offering

IDIS has appointed Charles Penning to the position of Technical Specialist to support its growing number of customers and partners, particularly supporting the company’s flagship DirectIP™ end-to-end and plug-and-play full-HD surveillance offering.

Based out of the IDIS European headquarters in London, Penning will strengthen the UK technical team to provide technical support and training across the UK and Ireland. Penning will underpin an already robust training program hosted from the IDIS demo and training centre in Brentford. This dedicated and purpose built training facility hosts a weekly agenda of courses that encompass single site installation training through to programs for multi-site enterprise-level implementations. Penning will also work closely with IDIS headquarters research and development to drive voice of the customer product enhancements.

Commenting on his appointment, Charles Penning, Technical Specialist at IDIS, noted, “It’s an exciting time to join IDIS during a period of huge growth that has seen the establishment of IDIS in the Middle East and Americas and the recent launch of our total surveillance solution here in London at IFSEC last month. The IDIS total solution offering enables us to meet the surveillance requirements from both a security and technology perspective for a wide range of customers big or small.”

Penning brings with him over ten years’ security industry experience and a wealth of technical expertise in both analogue and network surveillance. He most recently spent four successful years in technical roles with Samsung Techwin following tenures with Bosch and Forward Vision CCTV.

“Charles has a proven track record and deep understanding of surveillance, working with consultants, integrators and end-users from system design through to commissioning and maintenance. He is already proving to be an invaluable addition to our team in providing local and specialist support for our growing customer base.” added, Brian Song, Managing Director of IDIS Europe.

Penning holds an NVQ in mechanical engineering from the Basingstoke College of Technology and a Bachelor of Technology certification for security system installation, repair and inspection.
