IDIS and Sunstone partnership sees completion of surveillance upgrade at prestigious school
Sunstone has completed its first DirectIP rollout at Katharine Lady Berkeley’s school in Gloucestershire

IDIS has announced a strategic alliance with leading security integrator, Sunstone Systems to bring next generation DirectIP surveillance solutions to its UK-wide customer base.

With a broad range of medium to large enterprise customers from both the public and private sector, Sunstone has completed its first DirectIP rollout at prestigious school, Katharine Lady Berkeley’s in Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire. The newly installed 22-camera solution replaces existing CCTV and forms the first phase of a security change programme. The project will enhance existing security operations at the school’s Cotswolds campus to provide a modern and flexible security solution that can adapt to future security needs.

The DirectIP solution covers both the main school and its sports facilities, the latter forming a shared community facility with the local council. Using network-enabled surveillance allows both parties to monitor the facilities and for the school to real-time share information and surveillance footage with public bodies, including the emergency services, in the event of an incident.  Alastair Farwell, Site Manager at Katharine Lady Berkeley’s School, said, “The Sunstone team have provided us with a future proof security system allowing for other technologies to be brought on-line as required. We will continue to invest in improving the health, safety and wellbeing of our students as well as in deterring inappropriate use of the school facilities.”

Commenting on the alliance with IDIS, Paul Schelhaas, Director at Sunstone Systems, said, “By partnering with IDIS, we have simplified the surveillance buying chain for our customers while benefitting from a direct IDIS technical and product support model. The DirectIP solution suite continues to impress our customers in terms of superior image clarity and performance, combined with a cost-effective price tag and rapid deployment capability.”
