Exacq Technologies, part of the Security Products business unit of Tyco, introduces faster camera discovery and VideoPush to mobile devices with exacqVision 6.8 and automatic backup of recorder configurations in Enterprise System Manager (ESM), a health monitoring program for use with exacqVision Enterprise network video recorders (NVRs).

Improved connectivity with multiple IP cameras:

The EasyConnect feature introduced last year has been enhanced in exacqVision 6.8. EasyConnect allows users to find, address and connect multiple IP cameras to their network automatically. Now, camera scanning takes half the time as it did previously. The faster camera discovery also improves the user’s ability to find more cameras on busy networks and in more challenging network configurations where the camera and recorder are on different subnets.

VideoPush for Exacq Mobile:

exacqVision users can now utilise the VideoPush feature to and from Exacq Mobile. VideoPush gives exacqVision Enterprise users the ability to instantly push selected cameras, layouts, tours, groups or entire views to another exacqVision client monitor. With the latest release, Exacq Mobile now supports pushing video from the exacqVision client to a user with the Exacq mobile application open on their mobile device. This new feature enables greater collaboration between security professionals as they are walking around a site or working in various locations.

H.264 video decoding:

In addition to VideoPush, the latest Exacq Mobile app supports receiving and decoding H.264 video directly on the mobile device. Saving bandwidth and CPU on the server running the web service, it automatically negotiates whether to transcode or stream H.264 based on the specific mobile device performance.

ESM now allows administrators to automate and schedule recorder configuration backups. Administrators can configure backup exports on multiple servers simultaneously. With the new configuration management feature, ESM eases the management of backups in large environments.

The exacqVision VMS is accessed with the freely distributed exacqVision client software (Windows/Linux/Mac), the exacqVision free web browser client available for all leading web browsers (Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera), as well as the free Exacq mobile app for iOS, Android and Windows Phone 8 devices. The VMS software is included with pre-configured exacqVision NVR servers or it can be installed on third-party Windows or Linux-based systems.
