Axis Communications, a pioneer in network video, has launched two new developments within the AXIS Camera Station (ACS) ecosystem: AXIS Camera Station Edge (ACS Edge) and AXIS Camera Station Cloud Storage.

Both are designed to transform network video management through cutting-edge cloud capabilities. From now, these new solutions will join the AXIS Camera Station suite of products, reinforcing Axis’s commitment to delivering secure, scalable, and flexible solutions.

Solution with ACS Edge

AXIS Camera Station Edge introduces an advanced method of managing video data

AXIS Camera Station Edge introduces an advanced method of managing video data by processing images directly on the camera, eliminating the need for external servers or cloud-based processing. This on-the-edge image processing not only enhances speed but also reduces infrastructure needs, pioneering to lower operational costs and a reduced total cost of ownership for the user.

With ACS Edge, we are offering a true cam-to-cloud solution while the rest of our new ACS offering gives our customers the choice of on-premise, cloud, and hybrid solutions,” explains David Needham, EMEA Business Development Program Manager at Axis Communications.

Quicker access

One key advantage of ACS Edge is faster video access, as processing occurs on the camera itself. This reduces system complexity and eliminates the need for extensive on-site equipment.

ACS Edge seamlessly integrates Axis Edge devices with cloud services, allowing users to manage large volumes of video footage efficiently through an intuitive interface. Deployment is simple, requiring only an Axis camera with an SD card or Axis S30 Recorder Series — minimising setup time and ongoing maintenance.

AXIS Camera Station Cloud Storage

The service also provides a 30-day retention period for 720p video, making it ideal for businesses

Alongside ACS Edge, Axis introduces AXIS Camera Station Cloud Storage, a fully managed, secure cloud service available via a subscription licence. It offers long-term video storage, ensuring that footage is accessible regardless of the physical location of the hardware. This solution provides businesses with peace of mind, safeguarding critical video data even in the event of hardware failure or physical damage.

Processed footage can be automatically transferred from cameras to the cloud, eliminating costly on-premise storage while offering flexible access. The service also provides a 30-day retention period for 720p video, making it ideal for businesses across multiple regions with multi-region support.

Empowering customers with flexible solutions

David Needham concludes: “With the introduction of ACS Edge and Cloud Storage, we provide a comprehensive range of options for businesses — whether they require cloud, on-premise, or hybrid surveillance systems."

"AXIS Camera Station is a well-established flagship solution that has proven its reliability across industries, and this new generation will continue to empower customers with total control over their video surveillance systems”. Both AXIS Camera Station Edge and AXIS Camera Station Cloud Storage are available for download now.
