Axians UK, a technology services provider, future-proofed insurance company, Covéa Insurance, upgrading its digital network, for superior user experience.

By deploying a Wi-Fi-first solution, Covéa Insurance’s 800 employees at their head offices in Halifax, Yorkshire benefit from a reliable silent network that prioritises WiFi over cellular connections for voice, SMS, and data traffic across six storeys.

Shared problem = solved problem

Covéa Insurance suffered from unreliable connectivity due to the thick walls in its listed Victorian building.

Originally, Covéa Insurance’s requirements for its network solution included streamlined access to Wi-Fi, user visibility, remote access to fix issues, and a future-proofed service. Axians’ hands-on approach, together with its partner Actemium, prioritised the preservation of the listed building.

AI-based silent network

Axians solution transformed Covéa Insurance’s infrastructure into a “silent network” by using AI

The work happened overnight, allowing employees to remain working in the building throughout the day, minimising disruption.

The Axians solution transformed Covéa Insurance’s infrastructure into a “silent network” by using AI to provide a new level of agility, scalability, and network insights to its technical team.

Installing a new solution fast

Discussing the project and ongoing relationship with Axians UK, Richard Royce, Lead Service Manager, and Project Sponsor at Covéa Insurance, says, “We valued the partnership."

"Axians took the time to understand our business and particular onsite requirements. The team deployed a new solution fast, with minimal disruption to the business, and has transformed the office experience. The feedback from the users is amazing.”

Ensuring an insurer’s future

Deploying a Wi-Fi 6-enabled network allows Covéa Insurance to make wireless

The results of this project have shown significant improvements for Covéa Insurance. User experience, seamless connectivity, and technical debt were reduced, and the analysing operations have been simplified.

Deploying a Wi-Fi 6-enabled network allows Covéa Insurance to make wireless the primary access method for users, with cloud-based control allowing for increased visibility and control over network users. This visibility also resulted in reduced resource demands on IT ServiceDesk.

Minimal disruption

Stuart Long, Client Director at Axians UK says, “We quickly established a strong rapport, and immediately crafted a solid plan to achieve remarkable results. Thanks to our colleagues at Actemium, we ensured minimal disruption to the business, treating this beautiful building with utmost care."

"This close-knit working relationship has truly transformed into a genuine partnership, where our focus is squarely on supporting one another and achieving shared success.”
