With the upcoming Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June and the extended bank holiday period, there are many celebrations planned from community street parties to larger official events.

However, security must be kept at the forefront of all event planning to ensure people are protected and can enjoy their celebrations without the worry of a security threat.

Anti-terrorism bollards

The UK terrorism threat level currently sits at substantial, meaning unfortunately attacks are considered very likely. Whilst there is no specific intel to suggest that the celebrations will be targeted, large public events always remain attractive targets for terrorist activity. Therefore, local governments and event organisers need to work together to develop a security plan for all public celebrations.

In light of this, Iain Moran, Director at ATG Access, the innovator of road blockers, bollards and vehicle barriers suggests the security measures event organisers should be taking to protect people including installing temporary anti-terrorism bollards, ensuring community awareness, and training staff and volunteers on how to prevent and cope with security threats.
