ATEC has lent its support to its client Valero by acting as a Partner Sponsor for the Valero Benefit for Children Classic 2023. This is the tenth anniversary of the charitable event and the second that ATEC has sponsored. ATEC works with Valero to ensure its security infrastructure meets its regulatory requirements across all of its 18 oil refinery and terminal sites in the UK and Ireland.
The charitable event took place at Celtic Manor Resort and included golf and karting challenges as well as a festival evening to celebrate the tenth anniversary. To mark the anniversary, Valero was aiming to take the total amount donated over the decade above £2 million – an aim that was achieved thanks to the support of sponsors like ATEC.

“A huge Thank You to everyone who joined us at this year's 10th-anniversary Benefit for Children Classic at Celtic Manor,” said Brian Donovan, VP of UK Commercial operations at Valero. “We all had a fantastic time, with perfect weather, and raised £420,000 for children's charities. This takes our total over 10 years to £2,054,000.”
Sales Director Kris Simons and Strategic Account Manager Ian Farrell attended the event on behalf of ATEC. “Ian and I had a great time supporting the important causes funded by the Benefit for Children Classic,” said Simons. “Congratulations to Valero on another wonderful event and on breaking the £2 million mark over the ten years.”

The Valero Benefit for Children Classic 2023 supported 19 children’s charities: 2Wish Foundation, The Catrin Vaughan Foundation, Cerebra, Child Bereavement UK, The Children's Society, Friends and Families, Garth Youth and Community Project, Home-Start Rochdale and Bury for Families, Momentum Children's Cancer Charity, Mudchute Farm Park, NI Children's Hospice, Noah's Ark Children's Hospital, Pembrokeshire Sibling Group, RDA Barrow Farm, Richard House Children's Hospice, Sandy Bear, SNAP, Teenage Cancer Trust and Tŷ Hafan.
