ASSA ABLOY Security Doors, a UK division of ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in door opening solutions, has re-engineered its standard door leaf design to enhance aesthetics, add strength to the product and reduce environmental impact.

SMARTform technology

SMARTform technology enables the leaf to be formed with the same square or rebated edges found on traditional Powershield doors, while structurally benefitting from the inclusion of a full interlocking seam on all edges of the leaf.

The unique SMARTform design developed by ASSA ABLOY Security Doors’ in-house engineers reduces material waste, decreases welding, eliminates unwanted dust pollution and improves the appearance of the product.

SMARTform technology offers superior product

Neil Chambers, Production Manager at ASSA ABLOY Security Doors, said: “We have recently made a significant investment in a new manufacturing process, introducing new machinery and utilising modern production methods. This has enabled our engineers to design and produce a high quality, fit for purpose product more efficiently, while reducing environmental impact.

“Our new SMARTform technology ensures we remain globally competitive, supports our need for increased capacity and offers our customers a superior product.”

Through reduction of waste, energy consumption and pollution, ASSA ABLOY’s new Powershield door is an example of how sustainability is embedded in the design, manufacturing and logistic elements of ASSA ABLOY Security Doors’ value chain.

The new SMARTform technology is embedded in our wide range of fire, security and cleanroom doors.
