The head of the Border Security Programme for the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI), Dr John Coyne, has joined the list of quality speakers taking part in CIVSEC 2016.

Co-operating on border control

Dr Coyne’s presentation will highlight importance and scope of the private sector’s involvement in border security and the growing co-operation between private and government sectors.

His impressive background began with the Australian Federal Police where he worked on transnational organised crime, national security and counter terrorism. During the past 20 years he has forged a reputation as an intelligence professional at tactical, operational, and strategic levels across a range of military, regulatory, national security and law enforcement organisations.

Dr. Coyne has written and been published on a broad range of security and intelligence issues and has been a Winston Churchill Fellow and a Vincent Fairfax Fellow.

In all there are 31 scheduled conferences, symposia and workshop sessions on the CIVSEC 2016 agenda. CIVSEC 2016 will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre 31st May – 1st June
