ASIS and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) confirming their mutual intent to promote cooperation for public safety and security, and to develop education and information sharing programs.

The challenges facing the private sector security industry and law enforcement in the protection of people, property, and information demonstrate there is value in programs and initiatives that draw on the expertise of private sector security and law enforcement professionals in crime prevention, criminal apprehension, and public safety.

Corporate security risks

The public sector may better understand the needs and concerns of private sector security professionals through collaboration with membership organisations that have expertise in identifying and mitigating corporate security risks around the world.

ASIS looks forward to building on this new collaborative relationship with ATF to bring the substantial expertise of both organisations together to identify and mitigate risks to people, property, and information.
