Arecont Vision, the provider of IP-based megapixel camera technology, unveils the SurroundVideo Omni Mini dual sensor megapixel camera at IFSEC International. This unique new camera is on display in stand #C500 at the ExCel London, June 21-14, 2016, along with several other exciting new Arecont Vision cameras.

The SurroundVideo Omni Mini features twin megapixel camera sensors that are individually mounted in the Arecont Vision-designed 3-axis gimbals for outstanding adjustability and are each able to look in virtually any direction, including straight down.

HD bi-directional coverage

This new camera is ideal for providing coverage of areas that require high definition video of two directions simultaneously where a full-sized multi-sensor SurroundVideo camera is not required. Common uses will be for building entrances, exits, and corridors, for indoor or outdoor corners, or placed above two POS (point of sale terminals) or ATMs (automated teller machines). There are many other bi-directional applications.

The stylish, low-profile SurroundVideo Omni Mini camera will be available in 2, 4, 6, and 10MP models.

The ability to change lenses brings additional flexibility in application use, with 2.1, 2.8, 4, 6, 8, 12, and 16mm lens choices.

Ideal for variable light conditions

The SurroundVideo Omni Mini features remote focus for fast installation, and is a true day/night camera that is ideal for applications with variable lighting conditions regardless of time of day. NightView technology in the 2MP model ensures coverage in areas where little light is present. Applications with bright or over-saturated lighting conditions can be addressed with models that include Wide Dynamic Range (WDR).

“The SurroundVideo Omni Mini will be popular with customers who have had to rely upon multiple single sensor or costly PTZ (pan/tilt/zoom) cameras to cover a wide range of applications,” said Brad Donaldson, Vice President of Product Development, Arecont Vision. “This small, compact camera will provide outstanding video and situational awareness at a very affordable price point.”

SurroundVideo Omni Mini cameras offer advanced streaming capabilities. They are designed on the Arecont Vision highly efficient H.264 encoding platform to deliver high quality video without straining the network. New Arecont Vision SNAPstream (Smart Noise Adaptation and Processing) technology further decreases bandwidth usage.
