Employee volunteers from the Chicago metropolitan area branches of Allied Universal® visited areas of Chicago hit hardest by homelessness to distribute coats, clothing, shoes, and meals as part of the company’s Project THERE Souls to Soles project on Oct. 17, 2023.

The annual event distributed 200 meals, 235 coats, 200 pairs of pants, 250 pairs of socks, and 35 pairs of shoes to approximately 235 people in need.

Giving back to the community

Project THERE partners with charitable organisations within the community that help large groups of people and allow our employees to volunteer their time to assist in any way they can,” said Brian Webber, Allied Universal president of the Midwest region.

This initiative allows our team members to give back to the community that they both live and work in through acts of service.”

Project THERE community outreach

The initiative empowers employees to engage with the community, foster meaningful connections

Employees of Allied Universal, the world’s leading global security and facility services provider, hold Project THERE community outreach events nationwide.

The company’s philanthropic initiative empowers employees to engage with the community, foster meaningful connections, and elevate the well-being of those in need.

Donation

The success of the Chicago Project THERE event was made possible through the kindness and generosity of organisations within the community including:

  • McDonald's donated the 150 meals, with a local franchise offering a 25% discount on additional meals. McDonald’s also generously provided clothing items collected at various locations and allowed Allied Universal team members to utilise their headquarters for organising all donations.
  • Pacific Uniform donated coats and pants.
  • JLL, a global real estate services company, collected and donated coats.

In addition, Michael Newberry, regional vice president at Allied Universal, demonstrated support by contributing 50 meals for the outreach event. Project THERE is Allied Universal’s philanthropic initiative that empowers employees to engage with the community, foster meaningful connections, and elevate the well-being of those in need.
