Allied Universal, a facility services company and security force in North America with over 150,000 employees, announced the purchase of Source Security & Investigations, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Expanding Canadian presence

“Source Security & Investigations is widely recognised as Canada’s leading security firm and it has grown through a unique model featuring outstanding systems and processes and a strong culture,” said Steve Jones, Allied Universal CEO. “Adding Source Security to our portfolio of companies greatly expands our Canadian presence, an area we look to continue future growth.”

Founded in 2002, Source Security is Canada’s leading security group with a range of innovative and cost-effective services and offices that span the country. The company provides uniformed security professionals and technological security solutions.

Growth opportunities

The company also offers VIP security, industrial and event security and private investigations in offices across eight provinces and 21 cities in Canada. The company services clients across multiple sectors including higher education, industrial, retail, hospitals, government transit hubs, and auto ports.
