During the Critical Communications World 2018 (CCW) in Berlin Airbus will show real-time videos taken from a drone on its collaboration solution Tactilon Agnet. This proves that on top of providing secure Tetra and Tetrapol network connections, Tactilon Agnet is also fully interoperable with airborne networks. The demo will indicate how flexibly Tactilon Agnet can also integrate additional media channels during rescue missions.

In addition, the quality of the video transmissions are visibly improved on Airbus’ Tactilon Agnet (Quality of Service) by using multiple secure broadband networks, such as satellite connection, Long-Term Evolution (LTE), Wireless Fidelity (WiFi), or fifth generation networks (5G). Generally, the solution based on manifold broad- and narrowband network infrastructures is operational in- and outdoors. In the framework of the CCW, the company will also showcase Tactilon Agnet’s distinctive connectivity with the help of a tactical cell based on LTE technology.

Solution for spontaneous and reliable communication

Both demonstrations (drone and tactical cell), will take place once a day on the Airbus booths (A70, C90 and C100 hall 22a) at the Berlin Messe from 15 to 17 May. Whenever police officers or rescuers are in need of spontaneous, highly reliable communication channels for difficult missions, Tactilon Agnet is the right answer. In case of floods, commanders can quickly equip a motley team of paramedics, soldiers, volunteers, firefighters and police officers with the application.

On missions, Tactilon Agnet can be used on various kinds of devices and integrates information from unmanned aerial vehicles or other sources. This accelerates the coordination and precision of rescue missions destined to save lives.

Secure and reliable connectivity for smartphones

Tactilon Agnet is fully interoperable with Tetra and Tetrapol networks and allows secure and flexible communication between LTE device users and Tetra or Tetrapol terminal users. It offers enhanced services, such as permanent geolocalisation, navigation, group positioning and user presence as well as status displays on the map for commanding officers.

Tactilon Agnet also offers secure, full and reliable connectivity for smartphones. It is also evolving with the introduction of the LTE quality of service (QoS) management. Its mission critical voice capabilities, such as group or individual calls, are aligned with the release of the international telecommunications standards of the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), dealing with Mission Critical Push To Talk functions of future Professional Mobile Radio networks. The application’s multimedia functions, such as mission-critical data and video over LTE, are based on the principles of 3GPP’s release 14.
