Following the recent acquisition of Initial Security by MITIE Group PLC, the group announced today the completion of the rebranding of all Initial Security services under the MITIE Security identity.

Founded in 1979, Initial Security grew to become one of the UK's leading providers of manned security services with customers in sectors including retail, transport, distribution and commercial offices.

The acquisition has significantly enhanced the MITIE Security coverage with the 20 branch network managing security at over 2,000 locations throughout the UK.  MITIE Security now offers a range of security services including Static/Mobile Guarding, Gallery Attendants, Key holding and Remote Monitoring.

The rebranding of the business marks the final stage of the integration process and sees the introduction of new livery on all vehicles and a new uniform for the company's 9,000 front line staff by 31 December 2006.

Jeff Flanagan, Managing Director at MITIE Security, commented: "The integration of the Initial Security brand into MITIE Security marks a new chapter in the development of the business.  Both Initial Security and MITIE staff have been really positive and we are working together and focussing on the growth and success of MITIE Security.  There are a number of significant opportunities in the security market and we are determined to make MITIE Security the supplier of choice."
