Securitron ICPT transfers power between a door and latch side to operate the electronic locking device

At ASIS 2011, ASSA ABLOY is displaying its Securitron AccuPower Series of switching power supplies, designed to protect and maximize the performance of all access control devices. The company is also previewing its Securitron Inductive Coupling Power Transfer (ICPT), an innovative device that transfers contactless power between a door and the latch side of its frame without the need for contacts, to power an electric locking device installed on the door.

Securitron AccuPower power supplies are designed to provide clean, filtered and stable low-voltage DC power, to protect and enhance the performance of access control devices. AccuPower models are specifically and uniquely designed to minimize DC powerline noise, which minimizes misreads when using contactless card readers and enables better performance of radio frequency (RF) devices.

Used with an extensive range of access control devices including electrified locks, door closers, electric strikes, magnetic locks, card readers and many other devices, the AccuPower models support single and multi-door configurations all the way up to entire building systems.

The Securitron ICPT transfers contactless power between a door and the latch side of its frame to operate the door's electronic locking device. The ICPT provides 12/24 volts DC to directly power an electric locking device of up to 0.5 amps max, or to charge and extend the life of a battery lock for any access control system. Using magnetic inductance, Securitron ICPT is a labor saving and economical way of bringing power to the door.

The ICPT is easy to install, and eliminates costly drilling through the door to run wire to an electric lock - it's as simple to install as an electric strike and its concealed design means no bulky power transfer cords. The ICPT has no moving parts and it's sealed for long-term durability and to minimize the possibility of germ growth in healthcare applications. It extends the life of batteries, reducing environmental waste.

ASSA ABLOY will be located at booth #2312 during ASIS 2011 in Orlando, Florida.
