The IP CCTV security system is based on J2K Video's SharpView security management software
The school chose SharpView as it was the only product that met the key requirements

Britain's largest independent school upgrades to a fully digital IP CCTV security system based on J2K Video's SharpView security management software.

George Watson's College in Edinburgh has chosen the full Professional version of J2K Video's SharpView security management software to manage 64 Axis, standard and megapixel IP cameras. Alistair Riddell, IT Manager at the school, selected J2KVideo's solution following an extensive search for suitable products and found that SharpView was the only product in the industry that met the key requirements.

Multi-MegaPixel upgrade potential

Mr Riddell said "we wanted to have a fully integrated IP security system that was scalable, easy to use and which works on Apple's Mac OS X operating system", he said. "We particularly like the fact that SharpView allows us to migrate to multi-MegaPixel technology and the back-up archiving facility has features to export video clips into any common file format".

Andy Bell, Technical Director of J2K Video commented "it has been a refreshing change to supply our Mac OS version of SharpView to someone who appreciates the power of the Mac OS X operating system, since the vast majority of our customers use Windows".

SharpView was designed specifically for the emerging High Definition, Megapixel cameras which make it the system of choice for security professionals deploying leading edge technology to their client base.
