The PC Series reader is activated via the detection of a miPASS card and/or fingerprint. A card holder's pre-encoded data is stored in the memory chip of a miPASS card, such as a Password/PIN or fingerprint template to authenticate the card holder. Upon validation an encrypted password is sent to the PC for processing by an application with flexible user options, such as securing a drive or folder, creating a secure internet link, logging off or shutting down a PC.
